Narrative Writing for Standard 4 Students
Telling Stories
Tuesdays from 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Sept. 10th to Dec. 3rd, 2024
Writing great stories is about creating interesting characters, describing exciting places, and sharing fun adventures that keep readers entertained.
This interactive programme is designed to give students a solid foundation plus practice in everything they need to know to master narrative writing.
Spanning three terms, students start with an exploration of what exactly is a narrative essay, what’s needed to write great flash fiction, a step-by-step outline of basic plot structure, and strategies for beginning stories well. Term two covers concepts that support developing effective descriptions and rising action, plus ending stories while term three helps students build critical and creative thinking through analysing sample stories and rewriting with improvements.
