The Standard 3 course, runs for the entire academic year, covering specific topics and adds more practice and vocabulary while exploring a variety of different writing topics.

📚 Term 1 – Build the Foundation
Students learn the writing process, explore reflective writing with emotions, and discover how to include descriptive language using three of their five senses – sight, hearing, and touch. This is their first look at what makes stories descriptive.

✍️ Term 2 – Write Exciting Stories
Students dive deeper into narrative writing by exploring how to begin a story, introduce and build conflict, and wrap up stories with meaningful endings. This is their move beyond single paragraphs to writing complete three-paragraph stories.

📝 Term 3 – Expand into Reports
Students shift from narratives to report writing by exploring the basic ideas needed to write factual reports while paying attention to grammar and editing skills to present polished final essays. This is their first look at formal writing and editing to set the stage for future development of report writing.

This course include a few hands-on activities that make creative writing practical, tangible, and exciting. If your child is struggling with creative writing at this stage, then these are the types of classes they need to get the foundation right.
